Tour of Cheshire Historic Road Rally 2008
HRCR Latest News Quote - The rule changes introduced in 2007 to regulate the appearance of Clubmans championship rally cars have been rescinded for 2008. This comes after a difficult year for the championship that saw reduced entry levels on most championship rounds.
The HRCR Committee asked the views of all of the 2006 and 2007 championship contenders and the answer has come firmly back that they wish the championship regulations to go no further than that required by the MSA's 'Blue Book' historic rally vehicle regulations. However the 2007 regulations do still remain a strong recommendation to anyone preparing a car for historic road rallies and an article explaining the relevant MSA vehicle regulations will be appearing in the February issue of OldStager.
NEW This Year - Mike Sutcliffe Memorial Trophies
The Mike Sutcliffe Memorial Trophies will be awarded annually to the highest placed Tour of Cheshire, Driver & Navigator in a Pre-1960s car. These treasured awards were won by Mike Sutcliffe on the 1959 RAC Rally and are loaned to the Tour of Cheshire by Jackie Sutcliffe for the purpose intended, that of reward for driving a pre-1960 car on a British event.
